What it is

How it works.

Henna is a paste made from the ground leaves of the henna plant. Drawn onto the skin and left to dry, it leaves a stain that darkens over a day or two from orange to a rich brown. We draw every design freehand, from a single flower on the wrist to full bridal hands and feet, and we use natural henna only; we never use so-called black henna, which contains a chemical dye that can burn the skin.

Good for

  • Bridal mehndi for the bride and her party
  • Eid, Diwali and festival celebrations
  • Baby showers and birthdays
  • A temporary tattoo for vacation or an event
  • Group bookings

Offered at our Harrisburg Pike studio, 1360A Harrisburg Pike. Not available at Park City Center. By appointment: send a request and we'll call or text to confirm, or call 717-433-7774.

Your visit

What to expect.

  1. 1

    Choose a design

Bring inspiration or describe the feel you want; we'll sketch the placement and size.

  2. 2

    Draw

The henna is piped onto clean skin freehand. Sit back; small designs take minutes, bridal work takes longer.

  3. 3

    Dry and seal

The paste dries in about 20 minutes. We'll seal it so it stays on long enough to stain deeply.

Before your visit

  • Arrive with clean, lotion-free skin on the area
  • For bridal henna, book one to two days before the event so the stain is at its darkest
  • Wear clothing that won't rub the design while it dries

Afterward

  • Leave the paste on as long as you can, ideally four to six hours or overnight
  • Scrape the dried paste off; don't wash it off. Avoid water on the design for 12 hours
  • The stain deepens over 48 hours. Keep it moisturized with a natural balm and avoid scrubbing to make it last

Good to know

Questions we hear most.

Anything else, call or text us at 717-433-7774.

Is henna safe?

Natural henna has been used on skin for thousands of years and is safe for most people. We do not use black henna. If you've reacted to hair dye, tell us first.

How dark will it get?

Natural henna stains orange at first and darkens to brown over one to two days. Hands and feet stain darkest; the longer the paste stays on, the deeper the color.

Do you do bridal parties and events?

Yes. We can host small groups in the studio or discuss on-site henna for larger events; message us with the date and group size.
